Children’s and Youth Program Funding for 2008-2009
The City of Georgetown is now accepting applications from eligible agencies for Children’s and Youth Program Funding for the City’s 2008-2009 fiscal year, which begins October 1, 2008. To apply for funds, the application form below should be filled out and submitted no later than May 30, 2008. Funding decisions will be made by the City Council in compliance with the attached policy and funding guidelines subject to the availability of funds. Your application must be submitted no later than May 30, 2008, (deadline date).

Children’s and Youth Program Funding Policy Fiscal Year 2008 - 2009 City of Georgetown’s funding policy on Youth and Children’s Program:
1. Special Purpose Funding - In order to support community assistance programs, the City designates specific funding for special purposes, including Social Services, Children’s Programs, and Public Art. The City reserves the ability to cap this special purpose funding when necessitated by budget contingency or compliance issue, such as revenue shortfalls, or other reasons as determined by City Council.
2. Children’s and Youth Program Funding - The City will appropriate funds within the General Fund equal to one‐fourth of one percent (1/4%) of the General Fund operating budget for children’s programs. These funds will be allocated and paid according to the City’s funding guidelines for the Children’s and Youth Program. (PENDING) Approved by the City Council on April 8, 2008. Any given year, unallocated funds in either the Social Services Fund or the Children’s and Youth Program Funds can be allocated to the other fund, in an amount not to exceed the estimated increase for the following year in the fund receiving the transfer.
Funds may be allocated to support programs for children and youth who have little or no access to City programs either because of fees or location. This includes both current City programs as well as programs the City is authorized to provide but is not currently doing so.

City of Georgetown Guidelines for Children’s and Youth Program in 2008-2009: The Georgetown City Council will consider providing funding through a contract for services to legally qualified non‐profit organizations which provide services that the City is legally authorized to provide, but is not currently providing, when such services are: To support programs for children and youth who have little or no access to the City of Georgetown’s programs or services that the City is legally authorized to provide but not currently providing, either because of fees or location. These programs need to be offered on a regular basis after school and/or during vacations and breaks. These programs also shall have little or no charge or fees to participating youth and children, or provide scholarships and/or transportation for those who otherwise would be unable to participate. The programs and activities need to be open to the public and be held at an accessible facility.
