Creative Playscape is Tops in Texas

It’s summer, and kids are looking for something to do. Did you know we have the best playground in the state right here in Georgetown?

That’s right.

The Creative Playscape in San Gabriel Park was named the best playground in the state by Texas Monthly. A story called 68 awesome things to do with your kids in the April 2008 issue of the magazine gave Georgetown’s Creative Playscape top honors in the state for playgrounds.

The article says the playscape has “more things to do than we can name: climb, swing, jump, bounce, run, twirl.”

The playscape was built by nearly 900 community volunteers in 1993.

The Creative Playscape is located next to the Recreation Center at 1003 N. Austin Avenue.
