Tax Revenue Increase Notice

The City of Georgetown is conducting public hearings on a proposal to increase the total tax revenues of the City of Georgetown. The proposal would increase revenues from properties on the tax roll in the preceding year by 1.55083 percent. The first public hearing was held on August 12, and the second hearing will be held on August 25.

The total tax revenue raised last year at last year’s tax rate of 0.35659 for each $100 of taxable value was $13,397,621.44.

The total tax revenue proposed to be raised this year at the proposed tax rate of 0.35622 for each $100 of taxable value, excluding tax revenue to be raised from new property added to the tax roll this year, is $13,354,734.17.

The total tax revenue proposed to be raised this year at the proposed tax rate of 0.35622 for each $100 of taxable value, including tax revenue to be raised from new property added to the tax roll this year, is $14,301,362.51.

The City of Georgetown is scheduled to vote on the tax rate that will result in that tax increase at a public meeting to be held on August 28 at 4 p.m. at the Council Chamber and Court Building, located at 101 E. Seventh Street in Georgetown, Texas.
